Simple 10-Step Guide
Talent Show
1. Download and fill in your fundraising pack
Set out a clear plan and utilise the BLS marketing and promotional material.
2. Choose a Venue & Date
Pick a location that’s accessible, affordable, and has the right facilities (stage, seating, sound system). Book well in advance.
3. Set a Theme & Format
Decide if it’s open to all talents or themed (e.g., music, comedy, dance). Keep it fun and inclusive to attract a wide audience.
4. Recruit Performers
Invite local talent, schools, community groups, or individuals. Offer them a chance to showcase their skills while supporting a good cause.
5. Arrange Equipment & Volunteers
Secure microphones, speakers, lighting, and backstage helpers. Volunteers can handle ticketing, ushering, and refreshments.
6. Promote the Event
Use social media, posters, local radio, and community boards. Share performer profiles to build excitement.
7. Sell Tickets & Accept Donations
Offer advance tickets online and at local shops. Include an option for people to donate even if they can’t attend.
8. Add Fundraising Extras
Include raffles, bake sales, or merchandise to boost donations on the night.
9. Run the Show Smoothly
Have a clear running order, a confident host, and a team ready to handle any hiccups. Keep the energy high and the audience engaged.
10. Thank & Follow Up
After the event, thank performers, volunteers, and donors. Share how much was raised and how it will be used. This builds goodwill for future fundraisers.
