What It Represents

The Pattern Colours and Design
Black background is there to represent the night shifts.
Red is a tribute to the fire service, coast guard and lifeboats, rescue services and armed forces.
Green is to recognise the NHS, ambulance and paramedics, and air ambulance.
Blue is to represent all those working within policing and prisons.
Yellow, representing gold, is for all of the volunteers, key workers and families of all those in public service.

Registration Notes:
The tartan is intended to be used to raise vital funds to support those who are injured, disabled, sick or suffering from mental illness, and those who are neurodivergent, through the provision of adaptive, accessible and fully inclusive sporting events.
Blue Light Tartan Journey
Founder and CEO of Blue Light Sports Foundation, Registered Keeper of Blue Light Tartan, Gary Callier introduces Countess Bathurst to John from Geoffrey Tailer and Kilt Maker, and Howie from 21st Century Kilts at their shop on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh on Monday the 17th of August.
This was the first time that Gary Callier and Countess Bathurst have seen the tartan and were able to get hands on with the first run of the fabric and the first kilts tailored.
We are proud to announce Countess Bathurst as the Patron to Blue Light Tartan
Countess Bathurst is the founder of The National Foundation for Retired Service Animals, which have become the first Charity Partners to Blue Light Tartan, and, have already secured a manufacturing contract to release a full range of canine products to feature the pattern. These will soon become available online.

Moose and his assistance dog Arfur
Blue Light Tartan exists because of Moose, a champion of Blue Light Sport who has represented Scotland at an international level. An armed forces and blue light veteran, Moose now uses adaptive sports for his physical and mental health recovery whilst being a member of the blue light sports community.
His dream is to raise awareness of the work that the UK’s emergency, blue light and volunteer services, civil service and armed forces personnel undertake daily, and the unwavering support provided to them by their families. It is through Blue Light Tartan that the foundation will be able to help so many individuals and community groups through the power of adaptive sports recovery by providing grant funding through a national trust.
