3. Secure a Venue & Date
Book a local sports ground or community centre well in advance. Make sure the date doesn’t clash with other big events.
4. Recruit Teams & Participants
Invite local clubs, schools, businesses, and community groups to enter teams. Offer early-bird discounts or perks to encourage sign-ups.
5. Arrange Sponsorships
Approach local businesses to sponsor the event, teams, or prizes in exchange for advertising space on banners, shirts, or programmes.
6. Plan Fundraising Extras
Add side activities like raffles, bake sales, merchandise stalls, or skill challenges to boost donations.
7. Promote the Event
Use social media, local newspapers, posters, and word-of-mouth. Share stories about the cause to inspire people to attend and donate.
8. Organise Volunteers
Assign roles for set-up, registration, scorekeeping, refreshments, and clean-up. Make sure everyone knows their responsibilities.
9. Run the Event Smoothly
Have a clear schedule, keep matches on time, and make announcements to thank sponsors and encourage donations throughout the day.
10. Follow Up & Thank Supporters
After the event, share the total raised, post photos, and send thank-you messages to participants, sponsors, and volunteers.
