Simple 10-Step Guide
Quiz Night
1. Download and fill in your fundraising pack
Set out a clear plan and utilise the BLS marketing and promotional material.
2. Pick a Date & Venue
Select a date that avoids major local events. Book a venue with enough seating, good lighting, and a microphone if possible.
3. Set a Budget & Ticket Price
Work out costs (venue, prizes, printing) and set a ticket price that covers expenses while raising funds.
4. Decide on a Theme
A theme (e.g., 80s, movies, sports) can make the night more engaging and help with decorations and quiz rounds.
5. Write the Quiz Questions
Prepare a mix of easy, medium, and challenging questions across different categories to keep it fair and fun.
6. Gather Prizes
Ask local businesses to donate prizes for winners or raffle draws — it’s a great way to involve the community.
7. Promote the Event
Use social media, posters, local newsletters, and word-of-mouth to spread the word. Include how to buy tickets.
8. Organise Extra Fundraising Activities
Add a raffle, auction, or “guess the number” game to boost donations.
9. Run the Night Smoothly
Have a clear running order, a quizmaster, scorekeepers, and volunteers to help with drinks, snacks, and collecting answer sheets.
10. Thank & Follow Up
Thank attendees, volunteers, and sponsors. Share how much was raised and how it will help the charity.
