Simple 10-Step Guide
Online Giving Page
1. Download and fill in your fundraising pack
Set out a clear plan and utilise the BLS marketing and promotional material.
2. Check Legal Requirements
In the UK, most charity raffles must follow Gambling Commission rules. Make sure you understand whether your raffle is a small society lottery, incidental lottery, or online draw, and get any necessary permissions.
3. Set a Date & Venue
Choose when and where the draw will take place, it could be at a live event, online, or both.
4. Source Attractive Prizes
Ask local businesses, supporters, or sponsors to donate prizes. Aim for a mix of high-value and fun items to appeal to different people.
5. Price Your Tickets
Set a fair price that encourages multiple purchases (e.g., £2 each or 3 for £5).
6. Design & Print Tickets
Include our charity name, draw date, ticket price, and any legal wording required. Number each ticket for tracking.
7. Promote Widely
Use social media, email newsletters, posters, and word-of-mouth. Share photos of prizes to build excitement.
8. Sell Tickets
Sell in person, at events, or online (if permitted). Keep a record of sales and contact details for winners.
9. Hold the Draw
Draw tickets fairly and transparently. Announce winners live, online, or via email/phone.
10. Thank & Follow Up
Thank participants, prize donors, and volunteers. Share how much was raised and how it will help our cause.
