Simple 10-Step Guide
Fashion Show
1. Download and fill in your fundraising pack
Set out a clear plan and utilise the BLS marketing and promotional material.
2. Choose a Theme
Pick a theme that excites your audience, e.g., “Eco-Chic,” “Decades of Style,” or “Glamour on a Budget.” This will guide outfits, décor, and marketing.
3. Set a Budget
List all potential costs (venue, lighting, sound, refreshments, printing) and plan how you’ll cover them through sponsorships, ticket sales, or donations.
4. Secure a Venue
Book a space that suits your theme and audience size, community halls, school auditoriums, or local event spaces often work well.
5. Recruit Models & Volunteers
Invite local talent, students, or community members to model. Assign volunteers for backstage, ticketing, and guest assistance.
6. Partner with Designers or Boutiques
Collaborate with local fashion designers, thrift shops, or clothing brands willing to lend outfits in exchange for promotion.
7. Plan the Runway Program
Organise the order of outfits, music, and commentary. Keep it engaging with short breaks for raffles or donation appeals.
8. Promote the Event
Use social media, posters, local press, and word-of-mouth. Highlight the cause and how attending will make a difference.
9. Add Fundraising Extras
Include raffles, auctions, or merchandise sales to boost donations on the night.
10. Thank & Follow Up
After the event, thank attendees, sponsors, and volunteers. Share how much was raised and how it will help the cause.
