Simple 10-Step Guide

Disco

1. Download and fill in your fundraising pack

Set out a clear plan and utilise the BLS marketing and promotional material.

2. Choose a Venue

Pick a space big enough for dancing, with good lighting and sound facilities. Community halls, school gyms, or local clubs work well.

3. Pick a Date & Time

Avoid clashing with other local events. Evenings or weekends usually attract more people.

4. Decide on the Theme

A theme (e.g., 80s night, neon glow, masquerade) makes the event more exciting and encourages costumes.

5. Arrange Music & Equipment

Hire a DJ or set up a playlist. Ensure you have speakers, lights, and possibly a smoke machine for atmosphere.

6. Sort Out Tickets & Pricing

Sell tickets in advance and at the door. Offer discounts for early birds or group bookings.

7. Promote the Event

Use social media, posters, local radio, and word-of-mouth. Highlight the charity cause to encourage support.

8. Add Fundraising Extras

Include raffles, donation buckets, or a photo booth to boost donations.

9. Organise Volunteers

Have helpers for ticketing, refreshments, security, and clean-up.

10. Thank & Follow Up

After the event, thank attendees and share how much was raised. Post photos and updates to keep supporters engaged.
