Simple 10-Step Guide
Coffee Morning
1. Download and fill in your fundraising pack
Set out a clear plan and utilise the BLS marketing and promotional material.
2. Pick a Date & Time
Weekends or late mornings often work best. Give yourself at least 2–3 weeks to prepare.
3. Find a Venue
Your home, a community hall, workplace break room, or even a garden (weather permitting) can work perfectly.
4. Set a Fundraising Goal
Have a clear target, e.g., “Let’s raise £200 for [charity name]”, to motivate guests and yourself.
5. Plan the Menu
Offer a mix of teas, coffees, cakes, and biscuits. Include some dairy-free or gluten-free options if possible.
6. Spread the Word
Use posters, social media, WhatsApp groups, and word-of-mouth. Include the date, time, location, and cause.
7. Prepare Donation Options
Have a cash box, charity-branded collection tin, and a QR code or link for online donations.
8. Add a Fun Element
Consider a raffle, cake competition, or “guess the coffee beans in the jar” game to boost donations.
9. Share the Charity’s Story
Display leaflets, posters, or a small board explaining the cause and how donations will help.
10. Thank & Follow Up
After the event, thank everyone personally or via social media, share the total raised, and show the impact.
