Simple 10-Step Guide

Arts and Crafts Evening

1. Download and fill in your fundraising pack

Set out a clear plan and utilise the BLS marketing and promotional material.

2. Choose a Theme

Pick a fun, inclusive theme to make the evening memorable.

3. Secure a Venue

Book a community hall, art studio, or café space that’s affordable, accessible, and has enough room for tables, materials, and displays.

4. Plan the Activities

Select 2–3 easy crafts suitable for all skill levels (e.g., card-making, pottery painting, or fabric printing). Prepare clear instructions.

5. Gather Materials

Source supplies through donations from local craft shops or bulk purchases. Have extras for last-minute attendees.

6. Recruit Volunteers

Ask friends, local artists, or community members to help with setup, guiding participants, and tidying up.

7. Set Ticket Prices

Include the cost of materials, refreshments, and a donation in the ticket price. Offer early-bird or group discounts.

8. Promote the Event

Use social media, local noticeboards, community newsletters, and word-of-mouth. Share photos of example crafts to spark interest.

9. Add Fundraising Extras

Include a raffle, silent auction of handmade items, or a “pay-what-you-feel” refreshment table to boost donations.

10. Thank & Follow Up

After the event, thank attendees, volunteers, and sponsors. Share photos, the total raised, and how the funds will help your cause.
