Simple 10-Step Guide

Afternoon Tea

1. Download and fill in your fundraising pack

Set out a clear plan and utilise the BLS marketing and promotional material.

2. Set a Date & Time

Select a day that works for most guests, weekends or early afternoons often work best.

3. Find a Venue

Use your home, a community hall, or even a garden if the weather’s kind.

4. Plan Your Menu

Offer a mix of sweet and savoury treats, scones, finger sandwiches, cakes, and, of course, plenty of tea.

5. Decide on a Fundraising Method

You could sell tickets, ask for donations, run a raffle, or have a “pay what you feel” table.

6. Spread the Word

Invite friends, family, and neighbours. Use social media, posters, and word-of-mouth to reach more people.

7. Add a Fun Twist

Consider a theme (vintage, floral, or fancy hats) or light entertainment like live music or a quiz.

8. Prepare the Space

Set up tables with tablecloths, flowers, and teapots to create a cosy, welcoming atmosphere.

9. Share the Story

Display information about your chosen charity so guests know exactly where their money is going.

10. Say Thank You

After the event, thank everyone personally and share how much was raised, it makes people feel valued and more likely to support you again.
